Dream Weaver's Awards

This award program is designed to honor Personal websites. Those that go above and beyond the making of personal homepages.  Those websites that have that special individuality.  The web pages that show outstanding quality.

I know from past experiences the feeling you get when you see a "congratulations" e-mail.  Knowing that all the hard work and late nights to try to make the best possible website has just paid off.

To receive that little bit of encouragement so you know that you have an outstanding website.

For this reason, Dream Weaver's Awards was born.  Not to say "good job", but to say "wow, that is a wonderful website".

Before proceeding to the application form, please take this self test to make sure all necessary elements are in your website.

If you answered all of the first group of questions "no" and all of the second group of questions "yes", then please proceed to the next section to see what your site will be evaluated on and how it will be scored.

In order for your site to be reviewed, the following conditions must be met:

There must not be any illegal activities, sexual, discriminatory, violent or abusive content.  There must not be any links to any illegal activities, sexual, discriminatory, violent or abusive content.  There must be no profanity.  Your site must be viewable by all ages.

You must be at least 13 years of age

All pages must be in working condition.

It is understandable that not everybody is an artist, so if the graphics are not yours, you must give credit where credit is due.  All images must be stored on your own server (no stealing of bandwidth).  Your site must have at least 5 pages of useful content and must have more than just links. 

Your site must be in English or at least have an English translation (I am sorry, but this is the only language I know.)

Your site must not contain visible links to password protected areas.  I can not fairly judge your site if I can not see the whole thing.

Personal websites only.

You must be the webmaster/mistress and maintain the site yourself.

Your site does not need to function in both Internet Explorer and Netscape.

Your site will be judged in 5 categories:  First Impression, Design/Layout, Content, Navigation and Miscellaneous.

95 - 100 points = Gold    87 - 94 points = Silver
79 - 86 points = Bronze   74 - 78 points = Merit

Load time for each page (award pages excluded)	8
Points will be deducted for the following:
Unable to stop Flash intro	2
Unable to turn off music	1
Pop-ups not server related	1 per instance
Trailing cursors	1 per instance
No right click script	1
Centered text (single line is acceptable)	2
Broken images	1 per instance
Horizontal scrolling (800x600)	1 per instance
More than 2 animations per page (award and webring pages excluded)	1 per page
Use of back button on browser	1 per instance
Dead end internal links	1 per instance
Requesting information to enter site	2
External link opens in framed page	1 per instance
Script error messages	1 per instance

Royal Crown Award This is the hardest award to achieve.  Scores must be  95 - 100 to receive the Royal Crown Site Award.

Gold Award Scores must be 87 - 94 to receive the Gold Award of Excellence.

Silver Award Scores must be 79 - 86 to receive the Emerald Excellent Site Award.

Bronze Award Scores must be 74 - 78 to receive the Award of Beauty.
